South East Regional NDP Qualifiers

The South East Regional NDP Qualifiers took place this weekend in Sittingbourne with 159 gymnastics pairs and groups competing from 14 clubs across Sussex, Surrey and Kent, all with the aim to win those allusive top places and qualify for the Nationals Finals held this May in Stoke-on-Trent.

 Horsham did exceptionally well over the weekend returning home with an impressive tally of medals.

 Benjamin Ratcliffe and Madeleine Kent won Gold in the Grade 5 mixed pairs, Aimee Tolhurst and Ella Nelson also won Gold in the Grade 5 women’s pairs, and Caitlin Simpson, Amy Barry and Sophie Hogton won 5th place in the Grade 4 women’s groups. Horsham then dominated the podium in the Grade 5 women’s groups with Myla Kettell, Matilda Tester and Phoebe Rochead winning Gold and Manami Imada, Ella Dronfield and Alexandra Rodgers taking home Silver medals. To finish off an already extremely successful day, Emily Steere, Zoe Schubert and Natalie O’Hara won Gold in the Grade 6 women’s groups.    

 The younger categories competed on the Sunday. Isabella Powell and Alexis O’Hara came 6th and Annabelle Wright and Holly Cartwright came 9th in the Grade 2 women’s pairs and Dominic Smith and Jackson Laing won Silver in the Grade 3 men’s pairs. Devon Thomas and Nina Butler- Laplace won Silver and Dean Ede and India Fieldon came 4th in the Grade 2 mixed pairs. Summer Smith, Rhiannon Elwell and Clementine Tester came 4th and Ella Turtle, Grace Hanger and Darcy Luke won Gold in the Grade 2 women’s groups. Dominic Goddard and Zoe Gaudiano won Gold medals in the Grade 3 mixed pairs. Finally, to end the day Till Moore, Abbey Marsden and Olivia Barry came in 7th in the Grade 3 women’s groups.

 Congratulations to everyone who competed, fantastic results. Good luck to all the gymnasts who are now through to the national finals held in May in Stoke-on-Trent.
