South East Regional Acro Championships 2022

A successful weekend for all the gymnasts who competed at the South East Regional Acro Championships in Tonbridge on Saturday 26th November.
All Gymnasts placed within their categories and we gained 2 Regional Champions for 2022.

]]> https://www.hgc.org.uk:443/590/2022-Club-Championship-Results British Championships 24th-27th March 2022 hgc_191720 Thu, 24 Mar 2022 13:01:00 +0000 Isla and Bella competed in the Espoir (12-13yr) age group at Brooke and Tabitha competed in the Junior (14-15 yr) age group. This was a fantastic opportunity for these girls to perform on a big stage at the M&S arena in Liverpool with some notable great quality gymnastics from these girls which resulted in lots of praise from many judges and coaches alike. Isla placed a fabulous 12th on Vault and 11th on Floor and a fantastic 23rd all around against gymnasts who were mostly a year older than her. Arabella placed a credible 14th on Bars, but the highlight was a 3rd place British Championships bronze medal on Vault!

Brooke placed 11th on Bars, just missing out on qualification for the bars final even with a fall,  and a very credible 13th place on Floor. Tabitha had a few costly mistakes which kept her score lower than she hoped, but some beautiful gymnastics with some quality release and catch skills performed on bars.

Isla had a strong competition in grade 5 and placed 6th out of 25 gymnasts. Isla also placed; 1st on bars, 2nd on vault, 8th on floor and 10th on R&C. Isla has achieved “commended” at her grade 5.

Holly also had a strong competition in grade 3 and placed 5th out of 18 gymnasts. Holly also placed; 2nd on beam, 5th on bars, 6th on vault and 10th on floor and R&C. Holly has achieved “commended” at her grade 3.

In the grade 6 (2013 year category) there were 31 gymnasts competing. Lillie finished 3rd overall, 9th on vault, 4th on bars and floor, 7th on range and 1st on beam. In the grade 6 (2014 year category) there were 26 gymnasts competing. Paige finished 5th overall, 6th in bars and floor, 3rd on vault and 2nd on range. Isabelle placed 3rd overall, 4th on floor and beam and 3rd on bars and range. Lucia finished 2nd overall, 8th on vault, 6th on bars, 5th on floor, 4th on range and 2nd on beam. All 4 girls had some impressive overall scores and passed their grade 6 with distinction.

 

Day 2:

Miranda had a clean and strong competition and placed 3rd out of 10 gymnasts in Grade 2. Miranda also placed 1st on beam, 2nd on bars and 7th on floor, R&C and vault. Miranda achieved “Commended” at her Grade 2.

Ava W had a clean competition and placed 18th out of 33 gymnasts in Grade 4 (2011 age category). Ava achieved “commended” at her Grade 4. With a huge group Ava has done herself proud!

 

Amilya had a strong competition and placed 2nd out of 25 gymnasts in Grade 4 (2012 age category). Amilya also placed 2nd on beam, 2nd on R&C and 9th on floor and bars. Amilya achieved “commended” at her Grade 4.

 

Ava B had a steady competition and placed joint 8th out of 25 gymnasts in Grade 4 (2012). Ava also placed 2nd on bars and 10th on floor. Ava achieved “commended” at her Grade 4.

 

A huge well done to these girls that competed over the weekend at Regional grades; you’ve done yourselves and your coaches proud.

We are very proud of beautiful quality gymnastics shown by both girls.

A few costly mistakes to learn from for future competitions, but lots of experience gained. Some strong individual placings on individual apparatus achieved from the girls too.

55 gymnasts competed and Brooke and Tabby finished =8th on floor with Tabby also placing 4th on beam.

Today Isabelle, Lucia, Lilllie and Paige competed at the South East Regional Pre Grades; their first ever competition.
They did extremely well and placed as follows:
Paige: 1st overall, 1st on vault, 2nd on beam and Range and conditioning (R&C), 3rd on bars and 5th on floor.
Isabelle: 2nd overall and 2nd on vault, bars and beam, 1st on floor and 3rd on R&C.
Lillie: 2nd overall, 3rd on bars, 9th on vault and 1st on beam, floor and R&C.
Lucia: 3rd overall, 1st on floor, 4th on vault and beam and 5th on bars and R&C.
Well done girls; a very positive pre grades competition, ready to compete again in 2 weeks time!
 
 
Also today, Ava W, Ava B, Amilya, Holly, Isla and Miranda competed in the South East Regional Pre Grades.
They have had a very positive competition today in preparation for grades in 2 weeks time. The results were as follows:
Ava W: 12th overall, 2nd on vault, 6th on bars and 9th on R&C.
Ava B: 11th overall, 2nd on R&C and 3rd on bars.
Amilya: 3rd overall, 1st on beam, 4th on floor and 5th on vault and bars.
Holly: 5th overall, 2nd on vault and floor, 4th on bars, 5th on beam and 9th on R&C.
Isla: 1st overall, 1st on bars, 3rd on vault, 4th on R&C and 6th on beam and floor.
Miranda: 6th overall, 2nd on vault, 3rd on R&C, 6th on bars, 7th on beam and 9th on floor.
