A busy and long weekend with a group of our gymnasts competing at the Pipers Vale Pre Grades in Ipswich. All the girls gained valuable experience for their regional grades in 3 weeks time as well as all achieving an award for their work on at least one apparatus. In a high standard competition highlights include:

 

Excel 1 (16 competitors) -

Olivia 4th on bars

Violet 7th overall, 6th beam, 3rd R+C

 

Performance 1 (32 competitors) -

Roseanna 16th R+C

Ella 11th bars and R+C

Rosie 8th bars, 6th R+C

 

Preparation 3 (26 competitors) -

Darcey 15th vault

Kirsten 4th overall, 4th beam and R+C, 2nd bars.

 

Such a fabulous invitational competition for the artistic girls to take part in

The girls performed some fabulous routines, gained certificates along with rosettes and medals…to top it off they got to meet Georgia Mae Fenton

Advanced category 2017

 

Excel 1 -

Olivia (youngest in this category) 15th AA, 11th Beam and Floor. Gained Working Above for her grade.

Violet 11th AA, 10th Beam and Vault, R+C. Gained Working Beyond for her grade.

 

Preparation 3 -

Darcey (2015+ age group) 5th AA, Vault, 4th Bars, 5th Beam, 6th R+C. Darcey also placed 6th on vault for all age groups combined and achieved Working Beyond for her grade.

 

Kirsten in her own age group and all combined placed AA, 5th Vault, Bar and R+C, Beam. Gained Working Beyond for her grade.

 

Performance 1 -

Rosie - 19th AA, 10th Floor and R+C. Gained Working Above for her grade.

Ella - 12th AA, 9th Beam. Gained Working Above for her grade.

Roseanna - 10th AA, 8th R+C, 7th Bars, Floor. Gained Working Above for her grade.

Lucy had a clean competition today showing some lovely work as well as getting to meet European, World and Olympic medallists!!!

2017 Jan-June:

Mae- 7th AA, 2nd on R&C, 2nd highest vault score and 6th on bars and beam. Mae has passed her grade with “Working beyond”.

 

 

At Isabelle's first English Championships she managed to place 46th overall in a field of 61 of the best Aspires in England. Highlights of Belle's competition were her Tsukahara to land and a lovely bar and floor routine.

 

Bella managed to place 14th overall out of 61 gymnasts (with a couple of falls) as well as a terrific 10th on bars, 8th on floor as well as taking the silver medal on vault.

 

Well done to Lucy who competed in her first competition of the year and her first Junior English Championships. Lucy performed a strong vault and a confident beam today and will now be getting ready for the British Championships at the end of March.

 

Well done girls we are so proud of you and cant wait to see you compete at the British Championships in a few weeks time!!!

 

Bella put her straight yurchenko out for the first time in competition and gained 2nd place in the Aspire section on Vault as well as 4th overall. She also got the artistry award for the Aspire category on floor.

 

Belle competed her tsukahara for the first time to earn a Vault award as well as picking up 3rd place on floor and 6th overall in the Aspire category.

Well done girls!!!

Belle competed in her first FIG competition, and was the only 1st year Aspire gymnast, taking on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and Overall.

Bella in the 2nd year Aspire category placed 5th on Bars, on Vault and Beam, on Floor and Overall. Bella also got a Special Award on floor for her tumbling.

For the first competition of the season there were some positive performances from both girls.
