National Voluntary Finals 2019

Well done to Tabitha and Brooke who competed at voluntary level 2 National Finals. Tabby’s day didn’t go totally as planned but she managed 3 strong pieces, including being the top scorer on bars in the country for her age. This effectively makes Tabby the British Champion on bars for this age group of gymnasts. She was also 11th on floor.

Brooke competed well placing 8th on vault, 9th on bars, 11th on beam and 7th on floor. She finished the competition today placing 6th in the country.

From the 2 National finals this year Tabby is ranked 26th and Brooke 7th in Great Britain.

The following day saw Lucy and Isla compete at Level 4. Lucy was competing at her first national final and a steady comp saw her place 32nd overall and 16th on beam out of the top 49 gymnasts in the country.

Isla had a costly mistake on floor, dropping her down the overall positions, but finished 15th on beam. She also gained a combined GB ranking of 22nd.

Well done girls, lots of experience gained and some fabulous results.

Of the 12 gymnasts who competed at the Gyor Open International a total of 37 medals were won overall and on individual apparatus. This included a total of ten gold, eleven silver, eleven bronze, three 4th place, one 5th place and one 6th place medals.

There were two overall champions crowned through Georgia and Brooke, with Georgia also taking home the trophy for the highest score of the entire competition, a huge 14.6 on beam.

This was a massively successful trip for all these girls, aged just 9-15 years old, who not only won medals but have also had a fabulous experience to travel with their gymnastics. We are all extremely proud of how they approached this trip and the fantastic results achieved at this competition.

On 20th July, Horsham Gymnastics Centre held its 2014 Recreational Club Championships. The aim of the event is to enable children of all abilities to experience the thrill of being involved in a sporting competition, offering lots of opportunities to receive recognition for their skills. It was a great day to spend with family and friends whilst admiring the amount of talent all of our members. The format comprises of short floor routines and 2 vaulting elements with some gymnasts competing on all four sets of apparatus (floor, vault, bars, beam).

This event doesn’t only reward gymnasts for their efforts and work in the gym but it’s also about bringing everyone together for a fun, friendly event.

In between competition rounds, displays from both the Artistic and Acrobatic Squads were performed to inspire all of the members from Horsham gymnastics centre, including the younger generation to continue and develop their gymnastics skills.

Thank-you to all of the parents and volunteers that helped the set up of the competition too allow all of the gymnasts gain the best experience of the club championships.
