Sussex Championships 2016 Artistic

Sussex Championships 2016

18 gymnasts from the women's artistic groups competed at the Sussex Championships last weekend and came away with 1x 10th place, 2x 6th places, 2x 4th place, 2x bronze, 6x silver and 4 Sussex Champions

With a large group of 15 competitors for the In Age Level 5 category Jess Harmer finished 6th overall, Evie Harris-Duff 3rd, Elisha Venturini 2nd and Tabitha Lees became the In Age Level 5 Sussex Champion. Level 4 out of age saw Phoebe Light place 6th overall and Izzy Carr 4th. Poppy Griggs could only compete on 3 pieces due to injury but managed to place 3rd on 2 apparatus. Jaia Sahota-Lyons placed 2nd by .1 with team mate Sophie Hilliard becoming the Modified 5 Sussex Champion.
In the afternoon success continued with Elena Jones becoming the Sussex Champion for the Modified 4 Level. The next round included the Level 5 Out of Age gymnasts and saw Polly Stott finish in 10th place, Lily Garrard 4th and Morgan Miller 2nd. The final round of the day saw Millie Craven place 2nd at Out of Age 3 and Lola McNaughton place 2nd overall at In Age Level 4. Scarlett Tidy and Honesty South competed in a close fought F.I.G Challenge Espoir section performing many new skills and placing 3rd and 2nd respectively. Fran Clark finished off the competition by being crowned the Sussex Champion for Level 2 Out of Age.
